SCOTTISH
AIRPORTS
Please let McLean Scotland know when booking
your flights, what the arrival and departure
times/dates are for your vacation. This
assists us a great deal in planning your vacation to
Scotland. Where ever possible we try to make
your final night's stay here as close to your
departure airport as possible.
Glasgow
Airport is the busiest of Scotland's three main
international airports. Over 40 airlines serve
around 80 destinations and, in July 2004, it became
the first Scottish airport to handle over one million
passengers in a month.
Glasgow Prestwick International
Airport. Many people will remember the airport for Elvis’
visit in 1960 or as the transatlantic gateway during
the 1960’s to 1980’s. Now it is the main hub
for low cost flights by Ryanair.
Edinburgh
Airport is Scotland's capital airport.
Over 50 airlines
serve around 85 destinations and some eight
million passengers pass through the airport a year -
figures which are set to grow as Scotland's
international connections develop. Links are now in
place for direct flights to USA.
Aberdeen
Airport is one of the world's busiest commercial
heliports – serving
over 2.7 million passengers a year and offering
flights to around 35 (fixed-wing) destinations by 27
fixed-wing airlines. At the heart of the
offshore oil and gas industry. Dundee
Airport, located in the heart of Scotland, is the
most convenient fly-in destination for some 1000
square miles of Central Scotland. The main centres for
which Dundee Airport is best placed are, Dundee City,
St.Andrews and Carnoustie. It is very popular with
professional golfers when the Open is at St Andrews or
Carnoustie.
Inverness Airport
is the air gateway for the Highlands and Islands of
Scotland and handles more than 330 scheduled flights a
week to Scottish and UK destinations. Scheduled
flights operate daily to Inverness from London
Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Luton, Belfast,
Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow,
Stornoway in the Western Isles, Kirkwall in Orkney and
Sumburgh in Shetland. The airport is located 9
miles east of the City of Inverness just off the main
A96 trunk road and its facilities include on site car
hire, restaurant and bar, shop, and 650 pay car
parking spaces. Taxis are available at the airport and
buses operate to and from the airport terminal to
Inverness city centre and towns to the east. Information

Stornoway Airport
provides a key access point to Lewis and the
Western Isles, with flights from Inverness
and Glasgow, and inter-island services to Benbecula
and Barra. Located on the east coast of the Isle of
Lewis, a few miles from Stornoway, the airport also
serves as a base for the search and rescue helicopter
operated by HM Coastguard.
Benbecula
lies between North Uist and South Uist in the Western
Isles. The airport, located on the west coast of the
island, provides important support services to
the Hebrides Ranges.
Barra is
home to one of the world's most spectacular and most
beautiful airports. Aircraft started to use the beach
on 14 June 1933. Scheduled air services to and from
Barra Airport began on 7 August 1936. Barra is
now the only beach airport anywhere in the world to be
used for a scheduled airline service. see

Welcome
to Scotland's first commercial seaplane service.
The
abundance of lochs and natural harbours in Scotland
make the seaplane the natural choice for
transportation. The flexibility of a
seaplane to set down on both land and water makes it
easier to reach even the remotest part's of Scotland.
We can provide fast and reliable scheduled services,
excursions and charter services to any destination.
From Spring 2004, we will be offering excursion trips,
charter services and business services on Scotland's
first commercial seaplane service.
