PAUL McLEAN's
page.
proud to be called Band
Manager!

So what is my page all about? Not a
lot really, I just like hanging aboot with the band,
a great laugh and I do like pipe bands! This past
year 2008, yet again has been a good one for the
band (both bands grades 2 and 4). With my own
business of arranging tours, I will try my very best
to get some new supporters and new people to see and
chat to the band over the touring season, we will
try and be at the same places as the band when
competing, not only giving the band supporters but
giving my tourists a great day out with the many
bands who attend these competitions. My pal in
Perth Davie Menzies has now been fully converted! He
came with myself and the band to Northern Ireland
and Cowal in 2008, he has the bug! So here's to
2009! The World Pipe Band Championships
8,000 pipes & drums, 200 bands, 1 world champion! In
2009 Glasgow will witness titanic battles between an
international line-up of pipe bands challenging for
the world championship. With Highland Dancing, Drum
Major Competitions and European Highland Games, The
Worlds is a day of vibrant colours, passionate music
and intense competition. World Pipe Band
Championships 2009 promises to be one of the biggest
single events during the Homecoming Scotland 2009
festival with an estimated 50,000 in attendance. The
World Pipe Band Championships starts on the 14th of
August 2009 with the International Piping Concert. |
Paul is the co owner of the tour company
mcleanscotland, pictured here with the band.
Paul goes to as many competitions and gigs as
possible with the band, as his touring schedule
allows, in fact it was Paul who got the bookings
for Murrayfield and will be trying for more like
this for the band.
Both Paul and the band are
looking forward to a new sponsor for 2009 - more
later when we can print it, Paul also runs the
supporters club, it started out as a laugh with
Kenny McLean in Rochester USA, now it is a fully
blown supporters club, does any other band have
one? don't think so. That's Paul on
the far right.
C'mon the Denny!
