mclean scotland coach will pick up at Glasgow and Edinburgh to transfer to
Inverness
. We will stop for a refreshment break at Perth en route,
with a chance to see glass blowing at the Caithness Glass
Factory. Enjoy the events during the afternoon in Inverness
culminating with the Highland

Saturday 28th July
The European Pipe Band
Championships will be contested by 160 plus Pipe
Bands. A must see! So many bands in one place, the best
collection of pipe bands other than the World Championships
in
Glasgow
during August. Another glorious day,

Sunday 29th July
day trip to CULLODEN, CLAVA AND
PICTISH STONES, overnight
Inverness

Monday 30th July
transfer to Glasgow
for overnight, we hope this has been a highly memorable trip

Scotland

Thursday 19th July
arrive at Glasgow/Edinburgh - we will meet you and transfer
you to Pitlochry where we make a refreshment stop. We then
have an hour and a half to
Inverness
and our hotel for the next week. Check in and relaxation!
Friday 20th July Clan
gathering at Culloden Battlefield - wear your tartans
today! Details given when we know more on this event. Return
to the hotel in the afternoon. Free time in the city. Many,
many options here for dinner (which we will supply in your
tour notes). We will be suggesting events to attend while
here, again in the tour notes.
Saturday 21st July
the Heavy World Championships
Highland Games will be staged today, spend the entire day
here soaking up the event, clan tents, displays, games and
everything you would expect from a Highland Games! More
details posted later when we know more information.
Sunday 22nd July
today we explore Loch Ness and the
Great Glen. We travel the length of this great glen
stopping for a brief photo opportunity at
Urquhart
Castle
,
Fort
Augustus
, and then head north to visit
Eilean
Donan
Castle
. We return to
Inverness
via the northern route, passing through Wester Ross back to
our hotel for the night. A great day out of monster spotting
and castles!

Monday 23rd July - THURSO
this morning we head north to Dunrobin
castle, Seat of the Earls and Dukes of Sutherland,
this beautiful castle with a French influence sits looking
out across the
North
Sea
. With 189 rooms, it is the largest house in the Northern
Highlands. Parts of it date back to the 1300s.After our visit we continue north stopping at various
locations for sightseeing – some good surprises here!The day will end at Thurso where
we stay overnight.Dinner

Tuesday 24th July - THURSO
a day trip from Thurso which will include
Smoo
Caves
, Durness, our fabulous west coast and a stop in Ullapool.From here we head back to Thurso through glens and
stunning scenery.Hotel
for Dinner.
Wednesday 25th July - ORKNEY
we catch the early ferry to Orkney, where once ashore we
begin a two day tour taking in all the major attractions
there is to see! Overnight in Orkney with dinner.
Thursday 26th July –
ORKNEY a full day of sightseeing - the
main attraction on Orkney is its ancient history. From the
Stone Age to the Picts and Vikings, the islands have so many
sites of archaeological interest that it is impossible to
list them all here: see prehistoric villages, ancient tombs,
ruined palaces and standing stones.The people of Orkney (some 15,000 in total), with
their unique accent, do not see themselves as Scottish so
much as Orcadian. Today, many of the tourists that come here
are Scandinavian and in the shops you will be able to buy
Norwegian newspapers.

27th July – RETURN TO INVERNESS
We return to
Inverness
for some free time - there will be events taking place all
over the city this week, this is your chance to catch a few
of them! Tonight we take you to the TATTOO

Tuesday 31st July
transfer to your airport for travel home, have a good safe
trip home after this highly memorable trip to
