Working with Carl McIntosh, we have designed and planned a new itinerary for this tour in 2009. Due to the change in numbers we have adjusted the tour accordingly and we know everyone will enjoy this trip.

9 Nights in Scotland

after the Edinburgh Gathering

This tour has been made possible by Carl McIntosh It is a Scottish tour taking in clan lands. events and the opportunity of seeing other parts of Scotland.

Includes: 3 NIGHTS KINGUSSIE, 2 NIGHTS DORNIE, 3 NIGHTS INVERNESS, 1 NIGHT GLASGOW. 9 FULLY COOKED SCOTTISH BREAKFASTS, vehicle and driver for 6 DAYS. Train ticket to Glasgow - Inverness. Fully bound tour notes and maps.

FRIDAY 31 JULY arrive into Glasgow, your driver and coach will meet you at the airport and transfer north to Pitlochry (when all on the tour have safely arrived), where you can have free time in this lovely Victorian town. Lots to see and do, many options for food and drink or simply relax on the coach. Then north again to Kingussie where you stay the next few days at The Duke of Gordon Hotel - situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands overlooking the picturesque Spey Valley. You can view Ruthven Barracks - built in 1715 on the site of an earlier stone castle, which was constructed in the 1300's by the ancestors of the Seven Dukes of Gordon. Bed and breakfast.

SATURDAY 1 AUGUST

today is the Highland Games at Newtonmore, where you spend time enjoying some fine Scottish hospitality and culture! Returning to the hotel to freshen up before a gala ball this evening. Carl McIntosh has full details. Bed and breakfast.

SUNDAY 2 AUGUST. another day spent touring in the highlands, as we head out to Spean Bridge and Fort William. We will also visit the infamous Glencoe, scene of the brutal massacre of the MacDonalds, returning to the hotel early evening. For those who wish to spend the day locally, perhaps enjoy a round of golf, ask us for details. Bed & Breakfast.

THURSDAY 6 AUGUST. Either free time or; as a part of Clan Chattan package - Unveiling of the memorial cairn, lunch and a Gala Dinner today, Kilts tonight! Overnight Inverness. Please contact Carl for all clan event details.

FRIDAY 7 AUGUST. Either free time or; as a part of Clan Chattan package - The Moy Highland Games, dinner and Ceilidh today, again a superb part of the Clan Chattan Gathering.Overnight Inverness. Please contact Carl for all clan event details.

SATURDAY 8 AUGUST. Your final day here in Scotland, as you head south again to Glasgow, via a superb train journey taking you into Glasgow. Overnight in Glasgow.

MONDAY 3 AUGUST.  Heading north again to Inverness and along the Great Glen (Loch Ness) driving over the moors and through the Five Sisters mountains to Eilean Donan Castle where we have time for a visit. Overnight overlooking the castle at Dornie. Bed & Breakfast basis.

TUESDAY 4 AUGUST. All day on the Isle of Skye, stopping in the capital Portree. Then we visit Dunvegan Castle and Broadford before heading back to your hotel. Bed & Breakfast.


WEDNESDAY 5 AUGUST.
East to Stromeferry, Achnasheen and on to
Strathpeffer where will also take a wee stop. Arriving at Lochardil House
Hotel
for Clan Registration, followed by a visit to Culloden Battlefield. Our day ends in Inverness. Bed & Breakfast.
Your coach and driver will depart today.
